Hmmm ...... I've read the other reviews and I beg to differ well for one ... the beer is a lil on the flat side and the place has been done up a little bit but other than that this place is damn good.
Pecos is a small pub that started out in 1989 as basically a pub with a mexican theme , you could get chili dogs,tacos and tortillas with beer of course.
well the current day pecos has come a long way due to it's loyal patrons and people who call this place home ..... I did too ,still do.
The food is great and has improved with time , the beer machine could be fixed though ...it's a bit run down, the selling point of the place is the music and the people who haunt the place.
Pecos is home to all kinds of people students,Ad Agency types,Software Geeks and almost a cross section of people.
The music is mostly retro -Jazz ,Blues and Rock ..... no death metal or Trance ...
It's a place where you can take your girlfriend or hang out with your friends .... you can be sure of a good time .
The waiters are real friendly and helpful ....it's the only place i've seen where a girl could walk in a alone ,light a smoke , order for a beer and enjoy it ...without anyone in the place even giving her a second look .....
The dress code is as casual as you can get or as funky as you can get(as in tie and dye tees and dirty jeans or printed PJs ).....
And hey I almost forgot ,you get a pecos card on which you can keep a tab of the beers you've had and for every ten beers you get a ber free ,same goes for the pitchers ...it's been on since I can remember ....cool huh?
Overall, a real place with a lot of character and believe me .... this place started me off on the grateful dead,jazz and other stuff
So go on ahead if ever in bangalore don't miss pecos ..
PS. there's a Pecos poster which says
''Upstairs to the loo,
downstairs for cigarettes
No wonder our regulars are so fit!!''
