If you are traveling from Hampi to Gokarna, you have no option except Paulo Travels as they are the only ones running a bus remotely near that route.
When we got up on the bus at Hospet, they said that we would reach Gokarna at 5 am but they dropped us in the middle of nowhere at 2 am. Not only were the seats full of bedbugs, there was no room for movement and when they stopped for a loo break, it was in a field straight out of a horror movie. Women were urged to pee on the side of the road in the dark.
The bus dumped us with our luggage at Ankola(15 km away from Gokarna) at 2 am in front of a guesthouse which looked like the motel in Hitchcock's Psycho and sped off into the night.
So if you are traveling from Hampi to Gokarna, you would be better off using the government buses or traveling by train unless you like to star in horror movies.
