After a long time ayurvedic toothpaste came in market as commercial product. Ayurveda is far much better than allopathic and other western toothpastes. Patanjali dant kanti, an ayurveda product contains lot of herbs which individually having medicinal values. I think from last 20-22 years, I was using Colgate or other commercial toothpastes, all of which has only good cleansing qualities but no medicinal values. Although they provide freshness too but for a short time, then their effect vanish. Colgate like products uses lot of chemicals like sodium lauryl phosphate and preservatives which are very harmful for soft tissue of mouth like gums, tongue, cheeks, etc, some are carcinogenic too.
Patanjali dant kanti tastes little bit harsh or clove like but it refreshes mouth strongly and for a long time. Different herbal mixture of this paste fight against various microbes lives in mouth and destroy them to keep gums and teeth healthy. I do two times daily brushing using patanjali, just because of its good cleansing effect, my bleeding gum and bad odor problem is getting away. Regular use of this paste make a tooth healthy just because of its anti-caries properties. Clove content of paste help in regressing tooth ache sometimes.
Overall, it is a good paste for regular use, which makes my mouth free of germs along with teeth and gums which keeps my overall health better because according to doctors, "mouth is the entry point of diseases in body".
