Hlo Friends today I am going to explain about my district. I am living in the puduppariyaram panchayath of the palakkad district. Palakkad is the largest district in Kerala. The first name of palakkad was palakkattussery.The largest production of rice is in palakkad that's why it is known as granary of Kerala. The longest river Bharathapuzha of the state belongs to palakkad.The main tourists attraction of our district is malampuzha dam. It is one of well named dam all over the state. The dam stituaated along with a beautiful big garden. We spend our holidays more in this garden. There is a hanging bridge in this garden. From that bridge we can see correct face of the dam.And many other tourists place like kava, fantasy park, palakkad fort and Dhonifalls.The kava is on the back side of the dam.it is a large lake shore area.many film songs are shooted there.it is a main picnic spot. People prepare delicious food for noon and come to this place and spend here till evening. Fantasy park is a water amusement park. It is near malampuzha dam in the difference of 2km.The fort is historical one otherwise known as the TIPUFORT.Dhoni is a forest area.There we can see waterfalls and wild animals.The famous shopping malls in palakkad is JOBYSMALL, BIGBAZAR and the newly opened one is BISMI.The district is famous for some festival like kalpathyratholsavam and mundoorkummatti.The ratholsav is held for 3 days in the place kalpathy.This is a big festival. And Mundoor kummatti held by different villages and gathering together.Many politiccrime happened in this kummatti., so huge police protection is allowed in this occasion.
