Ambiance & Decor: The whole place has been redone and restored tastefully. It does have the look of authenticity in spite of the modern amenities. This is a haveli that has been the home to generations of Rajputs for about 150 years. The restaurant has old photographs of the family and conveys the sense of history beyond what you would normally find in books. There is a small museum in the haveli.
Guest Services: The front desk is always staffed by efficient and professional managers. They would not over commit or mislead you. Information from them, even if limited in scope, is true and correct. The house keeping staff is rather like the staff one would traditionally find in families; now they have uniforms for the benefit of the guests. The hotel can, on request, arrange for transportation within or outside city limits.
Room Quality: The heritage rooms are fairly large in size. But do not compare it with a modern hotel. You would find a combination of modern amenities with period furniture. There is a mini refrigerator and some packaged snacks in the room. However, one might feel that the snacks and water are over priced.
Location: The Pal Haveli is not far form the railway station and is located in the old city next door to the Clock Tower and the bazaar area. We went down to the Tripoliya Bazaar and bought some bandhani / bandhej sarees and dress material from Bhandari Sarees. The Mehrangarh Fort, the Mandore Gardens are not far from the place.

Food: Food is good but the restaurant can be a bit crowded if you plan a terrace dinner. If you are an Indian tourist and would not mind a modest meal then you can try the eating houses and food joints near the Clock Tower market.
