How to take proper care of teeth and gums.

Taking proper care of teeth is very important if you want to really want them to be with you life-long.But the tragedy is that everyone knows the ways to take care of teeth(since we have been learning that since childhood) but no one pays much attention towards it.As a result we end up with serious problems.


Teeth comprises of mainly three parts- crust, dentine and pulp.The crust consists of upper part namely enamel.Enamel is infact the most hard substance present in human body but if not taken care of properly it too becomes vulnerable to bacterial attack.The part of teeth beloe it is dentine which is a little less hard than the enamel.The pulp is the most sensitive part as it contains flesh and blood vessels richly supplied with blood.A cavity becomes painful when it reaches the pulp.Let us first talk about the causes of cavity.When food or sugar particles remain stuck in our mouth for long time,bacteria start feeding on them and release acids.This results in decreasing pH leveld and when it goes below 4 the enamel gradually degrades and develops a cavity.This cavity grows in size and ultimately reaches the pulp causing puss and severe pain.Bad breathe  is too problems associated with it.It is a proven fact that tooth decay causes indigestion which leads to many health issues.


To avoid all these one must do the following things:-


1.We must brush our teeth twice daily.


2.While brushing move the brush in circular motion without pressing it too much;that can harm your gums.


3.Tongue cleaning is an integral part of mouth cleanliness .So clean your teeth regulary.


4.Flossing is very important .It helps to take out food stuck in between teeth.


5.Use a mouthwash whenever your mouth doesnot feel fresh if you can't brush.It works efficiently in retarding bacterial growth in our mouth and also fights bad breath.


6.Teeth is made up of calcium and phosphorous.So taking food rich in these nutrients is very essential to get healthy teeth.Drinking a glass of milk every night before goung to bed is advisable.


6.Avoid drinks like tea or coffee which take away the whiteness of teeth.


6.If your teeth are not really white then try using baking soda.Take a pinch of it in a wet brush and brush gently.Do not do this more than twice a twice a week because that can lead to thinning of the enamel.


7.If you have the problem of loose gums,take few drops of mustard oil and mix a pinch of salt in it then,gently message your gums by applying the oil mixture with your finger.
