Off late I have been observing that neither OLA or UBER are announcing any surge pricing during peak hour of the day, nevertheless the ride cost during these period is definitely not the same as during normal time.
One example of yesterday, when I booked ola, the approx ride cost was around Rs154, but the driver just vanished without informing! Later when I tried booking through both Ola & Uber the estimated ride cost started fluctuating between 240 - 270 for the same location. Finally I took the ride through Ola Mini - Indica and for a distance of 11.3 Km had to shell out Rs 215 for a ride time of approx 34min. which translates to more than Rs20/KM
So the government warning and the operators withdrawal of surge pricing is all hogwash, while they continue to loot the customer at their will.
appreciate people look into this and bring it to the notice of the concerned.
