We planned a trip of friends to ooty this monsoon, it was a 1 night stay over there in the hotel, so we choose Oyo rooms being heard of it. The hotel booked was Hillwood collage which was about 2km from the botanical Garden in ooty.
Firstly, it was really hard for us to find the cottage, as it is situated very inside, with the board on opposite side.
As the check in time is 12pm, we went at 1pm and still noticed that our rooms were not ready and we had to wait even more, as they said previous guests were still there.
As we entered the rooms, we saw that they had a huge amount of insect kind of mosquitoes flying all inside the room, when we asked them to get a pest controll, they gave as a HIT, and we understood that we need to do on our own.
Rooms were poorly lit, most most the switches didn't work.
We need to get a shower so as we entered the bathroom, there was already a dirty water in the bucket. When we ran the tap, all the dirty muddy water was coming up.
We went to the intercom and noticed that it wasn't working. So we went to the reception and we came to know intercom wasn't working.
Geyser was turned on but no hot water was coming, when we complained about the same, they said we switch it off from our side as guests turn it on and forget. So he turned it on on our request. But geyser took a lot of time to heat the water.
We asked them for the shampoo, soap and towers as there was nothing kept in the room, as if the room wasn't ready. They took too long to get us and gave just one towel per room, with 3 guest in each.
The rooms had a peculiar smell of wet woods which were not fascinating.
On the day of check out we had a complimentary breakfast. So we asked for it and we came to know that it was a very small amount of meal free per person and for rest we need to pay. And that amount of breakfast was not even sufficient for a kid. For tea and coffee we had to pay.
So, this was was worst experience at Oyo rooms. Terribly unsatisfied. So we can conclude by
The service was very poor and late.
Rooms conditions were too poor with insects.
Rooms were poorly lit.
