Novelty is yet another theatre in the list of old cinemas at Mumbai. It is located in Grant Road. However, unlike most old theatres that are unwilling to get a revamp done, Novelty has consistently been improving over time and has been taking efforts to maintain a good infrastructure. So, you can say that this cinema is thriving to modernize and compete with the super multiplexes of Mumbai.
I have watched a coupld of movies at this theatre and always had a good experience. Being here takes you back to the old movies, where the counter is really huge and movie names and timings are displayed on the board by using alphabetical boards. You will also find agents sellings tickets in black. The cost of the tickets are pretty cheap and booking is available only on their counters through cash.
The theatre experience is good and the seats are organized like that in auditoriums, so you will not face trouble if there are tall people sitting on the seat before yours. The sound and picture quiality is decent. Snack for interval are sort of traditional and pocket friendly. Friend circles should go watch a movie together in this theatre and whistle or pass comments. It is super fun.
