Notting Hill - Brilliant. Review on Notting Hill Movie

I recently had the chance of watching the move Notting Hill on Star Movies, and I must say, it was one helluva movie. The concept is an oft repeated one; that of a normal person falling in love with a movie star, but the way director Roger Michell visualized it was absolutely stunning.

William Thacker (Hugh Grant) lives with his flat-mate Spike (Rhys Ifans) and runs a travel book shop. One day Anna Scott (Julia Roberts), an American movie superstar enters his shop to buy a book while shooting for her latest movie. Later on, William bumps into Anna at a street corner. And that’s where the heart beats faster, the pulse quickens and love blossoms. The dialogues are quick and witty and provides you with a quick insight of the life of a superstar; the joys and sorrows that she has to through. Finally, she finds peace and solace with a very normal guy in the heart of London. The humor is outrageous with Spike, William’s flat-mate at the core of it all. He plays a daft, absent-minded guy who sticks up with William come what may. The main musical score is provided by Ronan Keating (of Boyzone fame) with his smash hit single “When you say nothing at all…”. The instrumental version of this song keeps playing in the background throughout the movie.

The movie makes with good watching with an overall great performance by all the stars. You should definitely put this on your must-see list if you haven’t seen it yet.
