I hate Northwest. Review on Northwest Airlines

My 17 year old brother and law and his girlfriend were killed in a motorcylce accident not two weeks ago. We (my mom, my 3 month old and our 2 year old) flew over to Italy asap to be with family and meet up with my husband who had already left. Though the airline didn't alow us to board first on 3 of our four flights it wasn't too bad going over. Just 48 hours ago we were at the ticket counter in Catania, Sicily trying to get our luggage checked for our return flights when the ticket agent told us we had to hand over ALL of our luggage. Now, when we flew over this whole thing with London had just happened and they had confiscated all liquids and any other semi solid items, that was fine we went with it and we were prepared and packed accordingly this time around. Obviously flying with children isn't something easy so we had packed our carry ons with toys and crayons, diapers, wipes and other necessities for keeping children quiet not to mention personal items that had belonged to my husbands brother and other irreplaceable things. We were told that there were more incidents in London (not true) and that they were not allowing any flight into the US to take carry ons. We where forced to remove the diapers we needed and a couple blankets while they took our stroller, car seat and other hand bags (they did allow my mother to carry her small purse for the purpose of holding tickets and passports). If my husband hadn't been there I don't know what we would have done. We had a four hour lay over in Milan with no stroller and no way to carry things except for a small plastic bag obtained from a duty free store. My son was uncontrolable the whole trip home since we had no car seat to keep him in and no stroller to transfer him from gate to gate in. The eight hour flight from Amsterdam to Minneapolis was horrendous and when we asked for something my son could play with they brought us a deck of cards! Once we arrived in Minneapolis we waited AND waited, no luggage! We almost lost our flight but barely made it, oh, and they didn't seat us together at all, and once we arrived in Chicago there was still no luggage! We have called and called for help and assistance and everyone has told us something different. We actually should have had our luggage last night somehow it still hasn't shown up. If I could have every person who has been rude and unhelpful to our situation fired I would have a couple pages by now. We had a cell phone, cameras, pictures, jewlery etc. that we may never get back b/c of some idiots. Oh, but they did give us $25 off coupons for any flight over $75! We spent well over $8000 on tickets flying economy! One more thing, only two other passengers on our flight to the US weren't allowed carry ons, even the girl traveling next to us from Africa had a carry on! I hate Northwest.
