I am writing this review in the layman's language and also including some technological information. I am comparing this smartphone (not 3G phone as mentioned in one review) to the other coolest phone Nokia 3650.

6600 differs from 3650 in the following ways :

6600 has 65k color display where 3650 is only 4096 colors ( still amazing quality in 3650 )

MY OPINION : ++++

6600 is more compact, lighter and sleek w.r.t. size, 3650 is BIG but not so big .. :)

[ However, I think who can afford phones coming the 20k plus range come in the category of businessmen who want to use these phones as PDA + PHONE and mostly travel by car. Still being a student (studying MCA and traveling by bike), my 3650 is no problemo ! ]

MY OPINION : +++

6600 uses symbian OS v7.0 and midp 2.0. whereas 3650 uses the Symbian v6.1

[ However symbian v6.1 is also pretty advanced and lot of 3rd party s/w are available for this platform]

MY OPINION : +++

6 MB memory and external 32 MB MMC card where 3650 has 4 MB and external 16 MB card( still both are upgradeable to 512 MB)

[You can upgrade your firmware for your 3650 without harm (Operating System like win95 to winXP) from your nokia care center, firmware 3.16 supports 256 and above otherwise any firmware supports 128 MB, 128 mb - 3000 rs, 256 mb - 6000 rs, 512 mb - 200 $ not sure if available in india yet, https://topram.com ]

MY OPINION : +++

Same camera VGA 640X480 with Digital zoom 2x with no zoom in 3650 (3650 offers post snap zoom upto 1600 percent)

[ However you get 3rd party s/w like photographer, Camera Fx with 3650 which don't only allow zoom but also use special effects like mirror images, special masks....while taking snaps. Remember all zoom is done digitally unlike digital cameras which offer optical zoom]

MY OPINION : ++

Nokia 6600 has a normal and stylish keypad (still conventional) whereas 3650 has a unique circular keypad.

[ However you will get adjusted to your unique 3650.... :P, you need to be unique someway right? ]

MY OPINION : +++

6600 has SSL and VPN ( advanced security features while browsing) unlike 3650

[ However, 3rd party s/w for 3650 like Dorris Browser and Opera Browser don't only support SSL but also allow us to browse normal webpages using small screen rendering technology. 6600 by default only allows to view XHTML and WAP only!! ]

MY OPINION : ++

Nokia wallet feature in 6600 is absent in 3650 (secured data is stored in phone, e.g. credit card details, Username.... for transactions on the net.. its stores your virtual credit card)

[ However, 3rd party s/w are available for your nokia 3650 ]

My OPINION : ++++

Nokia 6600 allows you to record video with sound and also watch streaming videos (3gpp format), you can pretty well do the same thing with nokia latest 3650, recording is limited to 100 kb(roughly 10 secs).

[ However, 3rd party s/w ETI camrecorder and HIP cam are available for 3650 which allow record unlimited time of video with sound with amazing quality]

MY OPINION : +

Nokia 6600 allows you play mp3z unlike nokia 3650.

[ However, 3rd party s/w like MP3go and MP3player are available for 3650 which allow you to play mp3z!]

MY OPINION : +

Nokia 6600 allows you play set mp3z as ringtones unlike nokia 3650.

[ However, your nokia 3650 PCsuite automatically converts mp3z to wavs which allow you to set your mp3 (as wav file) as the ringtone!]

MY OPINION : +

Rest of the features are simlilar like:

Blue tooth

infra-red

triband

pop3 and imap4 mail a/cs (email clients like outlook)

Both require 3rd party s/w for making complete use of the phone's

capabilities....why would they give expandable memory advantage otherwise... HSCSD, GPRS upto 43 kbps modem ( I can browse not faster than 5-12 kbps on my bplmobile on average)

CONCLUSION : Nokia 3650 is available for 18 1/2 k and Nokia 6600 is available for 26k (I am quoting this from reading a previous review), I feel there is no need to shell out 8k for some extra colorful screen, 3650 has a wonderful screen even with 4096 colors. Other than the screen and the size of the mobile and normal keypad(over the 3650), I don't think there is much added advantage with the phone. I don't recommend buying it unless you have enough enough cash and don't know other ways to spend it. Nokia has released its 3650 cousin 3660 with exactly same features as 3650 with 65k color screen and conventional keypad, don't know about the cost or when it will be available, if it costs less than 6600 it surely is better buy

or check out the Siemens SX1.... Mind you 3650 isn't that big when you start using it, I was about to get dumped by my GF coz I spent more time with my 3650 than her :P (pun intended)

If anybody wants to see a pic of this mobile in comparison with 3650 (i really wonder how to introduce a pic with the reviews !!, I am sorry I am kinda new on this forum, its my first review, plz somebody tell me what all tags does this support ?? <IMG> et all....)

check this out :

This shows color screen diffrence between 16 bit and 4096 colors of 3650 =>

I am not sure if I can recommend other sites, so if you want just do a google search before you end buying one.
