Iv never been by the Indian Airlines terminal of New Delhi Airport and have only been by 1b which is for most of the private airlines.I dont have too many nice thigns to say about New Delhi Airport. Starting out from outside the airport offices are outside the airport and this means that you'll probably get wet if its raining also there is a lot of chaos and this can really get on your nerves. Now coming in there are very few luggage screening machines on the Spicejet/AirDeccan/ Paramaount Airways side and you can make out that the airport wasn't designed well and most of the counters and areas have just been squeezed into whatever space is available.
After this you go towards security and into the waiting area. The waiting area has a cafeteria and that's about it. There are 2 screens which show the news and that's about it. The airport has the crap grey flooring found in other airports and the wall has choona on it. The walls in the check in area are pathetic with the panelling coming out and the dirty walls inside becoming visible through the panel gaps. There is another cafe before security which is operated by the Oberoi or Taj. This is one of the only decent places in the entire airport.
There is wireless internet in the airport which is operated by Tata Indicom though you have to walk from one end of the airport to the other to get it activated and this is really a pain. Overall a very disappointing airport and I hope its renovated soon. The arrival section is a little better and there are many taxi and rent a car counters at the airport. though aesthetically its the same i.e. rubbish
