It has been pouring since last night. Cats and dogs, whatever! Yesterday I had taken off from work for getting done some personal work at Pune, it took me so long to get over with matters that came back to Mumbai at this unearthly hour of 2 am.

I consider myself lucky that I can fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow, no matter what time, and after the tiring bus journey of 7 hours too and fro, it wasn’t difficult at all. I woke up with the alarm at 7.30 am. Just 5 hours of sleep and I could feel my head throbbing .I got ready and rushed out of home, it was raining as though the sky is weeping its heart out (or rather clouds out ), I waded like a duck through near knee length of water, reached the bus stop, waited for the bus in vain for over an hour ( I have never been so patient in my life ), gave all possible curses in as many languages as I could, to the BEST guys (the public bus service in Bombay), all the while listening to GO 92.5 FM, which was like a saving grace.

SO return home like a lost warrior, very angry, exhausted from last night, irritated with everyone around, and no one at home to vent out my frustrations. I decide to give myself a MOOD-BOOST. Change into my favorite T Shirt that reads : “I AM NOT OPINIONATED_ITS JUST THAT I AM ALWAYS RIGHT”and faded blue jeans. Get out that red and white checkered table cloth, spread it on the small round table, start my favorite Jagjit Singh music. All set to have my all time loved drink-NESCAFE. Select my red and yellow, huge coffee mug from my awesome mug-collection( each one to suit a different mood ) make* my coffee and sit back relaxed, raw nerves soothed by the aroma of Coffee, filling the senses, listening to Jagjit with the background provided by the rains hitting on the roof and windows.

One sip, and all’s well with the world again. I feel warm and cozy, no longer anxious and irate.

That is the magic of NESCAFE.

The best way to make NESCAFE according to me:

Put a heaped tea-spoon of NESCAFE – Classic into your mug, plug in the kettle of water, as the water starts bubbling, put 2 drops of water over the Nescafe Granules, Sugar as per your taste ( I use 1 sachet of Demerara sugar taken from those extras in my previous visit to MOCHAS- Coffee and Conversations ) and then with a teaspoon, vigorously mix the coffee granules, water and sugar, round and round, sort of a creaming process, for around 15 seconds, and then pour the remaining boiling hot water into the mug from a little height so that you get lots of froth, and then add milk as per your taste (I use 1 tsp of Nestle Everyday Milk powder), stir it in slowly without disturbing the froth…and Lo…the world’s most amazing drink is ready, that too with 0% Alcohol content.

Other Ways to use NESCAFE:

1.FRAPPE - Cold Coffee

1 and a half heaped tsp of Nescafe, 4 ice cubes, 120 ml of cold milk, 2 tsp of sugar, all to be run for 45 seconds in a blender. Alternatively you could take all the ingredients in a tall vessel and run the hand blender through it for a minute, tilting the blender sideways in the end to whip up more froth.

Pour it into a TALL slender glass, and you could sprinkle some Cadbury’s Drinking Chocolate Powder on the top for an out-of-the-world experience.

2. One can also use Nescafe Granules in CAKES, COOKIES and PUDDING mixes for that awesome coffee flavor. Just that if you have this for desert at night, don’t blame the cake for keeping you awake till late

Sanjeev Kapoor has a mouthwatering Recipe of COFFEE HONEY PUDDING

3. Amaretto Coffee

One cup strong NESCAFE

One tbsp cocoa powder (drinking chocolate)

One shot amaretto

Non-alcoholic version:

Replace amaretto with two drops almond flavoring and one drop brandy flavoring.

Top with whipped cream if desired.

  • Amaretto is a liqueur with a distinct flavor of almonds, though it's often made with apricot pits kernels. Usually served straight, on the rocks or used as a mixer.

ABOUT NESCAFE

Some History: (from https://nescafe.co.uk)

The beginnings of Nescafé can be traced all the way back to 1930, when the Brazilian government first approached Nestlé. The coffee guru, Max Morgenthaler and his team, set out immediately to find a way of producing a quality cup of coffee that could be made simply by adding water, yet would retain the coffee's natural flavour. After seven long years of research in their Swiss laboratories, he found the answer. The new product was named Nescafé - a combination of Nestlé and café.

Packaging

In Glass bottles and also foil refill packs. Both retain the aroma well, its better to empty contents of refill pack into air tight bottle as soon as you tear it open.

Pricing

Price seems quite reasonable, keeping in line with the Premium Quality.

Quality
