My mother was admitted to the hospital in HSR layout early this year. She was suffering from fever, chest congestion and breathing problems.
After a couple of tests the doctors confirmed it was urinary infection and treated her with 10 day course of very expensive antibiotics.
She was discharged after the 5th day and to my surprise the bill was pretty huge and was charged 800/- per day for doctors visit which never happened. When I enquired they said doctor consulted over the phone!
The worst part was that my mother was wrongly diagnosed with urinary infection due to the faulty lab reports in Narayana itself!
After 10 days we went for a follow-up, then again the lab reports showed a re-occurrence of urinary infection when she does not show any symptoms of the same from beginning.
I repeated the tests in Sakra hospital and there it showed there was no urinary infection.
After which I took my mother to Fortis hospital in Cunningham road. The specialist had one look at the report and ruled out any uninary infection.
He suggested for chest CT and broncoscopy after which the real problem was diagonised and she was treated for a lung infection. Now she has recovered and doing well.
I also wrote a written complaint with all the documents in Narayana Hospital but looks like there is nobody even bothered to look into it.
One of the worst hospitals I have even been to. So beware of the HSR Layout branch. Its a real shame to Dr Devi Shetty who has such a big name in the medical field.
