You wanna know why?. Review on NIIT Ltd

First of all Hi to all coz I’m back, it’s been ages since I was here on mouthshut.com, so hold your applauses. Ok for all of you who don’t know what N.I.I.T stands for, it is simple: Not Interested in Teaching or short NIIT. Not too long ago when I was in college I decide to join NIIT becoz I wanted to make a career out of it, I read about it in papers etc, but my biggest mistake was I never asked past students of NIIT which I strongly suggest you do depending on which branch your studying at. MY branch was In goa. So anyways I decided to join the GNIIT which is short for Greatly Not Interested In Teaching, ok so if I can remember correctly, it was supposed to be a 3 year course, with the promised job placement bullshit and back then I thought all that was true, I mean come on people you walk into any NIIT center and the first thing you see in the so called ''success students'' hanging on their walls, which reminds me...have you noticed how all their success students happen to be really good-looking? Ok thats besides the point.

So now I go to the NIIT center, and here is how it goes: I walk in and meet the receptionist. A hot chick who i'm sure was new on the job coz she could not find her pen, did not know where the forms were etc.Ok then I had to give a entrance exam, the questions were kidz stuff, things I learnt back in the 8th and 10th grade. I was called a week later, to be told to come and pay the first installment of the fees which back then the whole course cost around Rs 32000. So I go and pay the fees and i'm all set. I was given this stupid hand bag, with my courseware. Now I must agree with someone guys and girls here that NIIT is only after you for your money,I personally experienced I was late to pay my fees for like 2 day and I had to pay a fine of Rs 450,oh its like making a deal with the devil, once your in they intend to keep you there for as long as it takes. They never finished a semester in time.

Now here's what really got me ticked off, for the lab practical, we were made to sit 3 people on one computer, can you believe that, I mean as for me I like to play with my computer, and I dont mean games and such, see in computers you cant learn anything unless you actually do it your self, no amount of teaching you in words will ever help you unless you actually grab hands on a computer.But when your sitting with 2 other guyz on the same computer, and the other two guyz are stone heads, and I mean really slow in their head, its not possible to actually do what YOU want to do, you have to wait till they get it,The worst part is you cant tell the Teachers about changing partners coz then they'll say your not a ''team player'' that your making a fuss with your fellow students, and that you lack team sprit. NIIT tells you before joining that you’ll have lots of time on the computer but that’s not true.

OK you want some more, i'll give you plenty more, Now its time for my college exams, which happen to coincide with NIIT exams, so, a girl studying in the same college and I go to talk to the receptionist about if we can postpone our NIIT exams to after our college exams,and believe me guys we two had to actually wait for 2 hours before we got a reply,first the receptionist gives us a big speech, then she tells us to talk to the Manager who was in a meeting, with his door open laughing and having a cup of tea with his friend, for a whole 2 hours while we sat there waiting for him, and then finally the answer was ''Sure no problem, but you'll have to pay some fees for that''.After that, then I wanted to go abroad for a holiday which we were promised that after 2 semesters we could take a break if we wanted for vacation, but then you'd be put in another batch when you rejoin again,which was fine with me, BUT I had to pay another, ''going on vacation fees'' and then i'm really not sure to say this but I think I did pay some fees again for coming a week later then I said I would come, which was my fault of couse so no matter. About the teaching, my lectures at NIIT used to be a whole 2 hours straight, our first semister teacher she was a doll, I mean I could actually understand everything she said,but that was all fine till I finished that semester, then this other guy takes over, and this guy oh lord, i'd be darned if could understand a word that he was talking about. Totally not fit to teach,he'd just stand there infront of the class and rant on and on word for word from the text books, and if we were to ask him a question he'd say pay attention when i'm teaching then you'd not have any questions. I mean what the hell are you teaching us anyways? Computers cant be learnt reading a book,

Finally and not the least of my troubles was I wanted out, I could not stand it anymore, here I was at NIIT, trying to learn something but the teachers were hopeless, I was not gaining any good knowledge, its like just read the book and come then the teachers will read the book out in class, and thats it, there no actual teaching.So I go and state my case to the receptionist who mind you now is a different hot chick, I dont know what happened to the one who was there when I first joined up, oh oh oh I almost forgot, there were 2 couples at the NIIT center that I was going to, not just any couples, but a Teacher and a student!! How yuck is that, teachers flirting with the students, so girls beware, the guy teachers are only there to touch your hands, and get close to you with the excuse of ''showing you the problem'' hahaha!! Where was i...crap, oh yeah...the new receptionist, well I stated that I wanted to leave NIIT, coz I was going abroad for good, but thats not the end of the story, I was made to come countless number of times to the office, pay discontinue fees, text book fees that were so called pre-ordered, and becoz I did not give a months notice prior to leaving I had to pay again, and for all its worth NIIT only teaches you how to go to the bank and how to withdraw your bank balance. Next thing you know you'll have to pay to ask questions.

Rodzy's bottom line:- if you want to do something in computers dont EVER go in for long term courses like 3 to 4 years, becoz things in computers keep changing all the time, places like NIIT are not going to change their course ware and bring in new stuff untill the new stuff is almost become outdated.What i'm trying to say here is, today it’s the world of say for example, Windows Xp, but you'll still be dealing with windows 98, 2000 etc Always find out from ex-students about the course your want to do first, becoz they have been there done that.and they are the only ones that will actually guide you. and last but not least, most computer teachers that are men are perverts, so ladies beware!! Adieus.
