NIIT's administration / organisation is filled with cheats. People who are good for nothing in almost everything except in hoodwinking people and looting their money., where they turn out to be thorough professionals. Money's all they are after.
I had the worst experience of my life at NIIT's Gariahat Center in Kolkata. I am a working professional, invloved in marketing, which requires a lot of travelling. I had always had a penchant for programming, and luckily got a free phase at work from Dec'06 to May'07. I decided to make use of this relaxed period to learn JAVA. The "Counsellor" at the "reputed" NIIT Gariahat center told me I'll have to do C+ and JAVA since I do not have a programming / computer engg background. I made myself very clear to them that I will be able to attend classes ONLY during weekends and will be free only from Dec'06 to May'07. I told them to let me know then itself if they cant fix a batch for me. Well, they didn't want to lose the 23 grand that an idiot was going to throw away. So everything was "arranged" as per my "convenience" and classes were to start "immediately"(read Dec'06)
I got the first shock when the "counsellor" told me, after I paid the full fees(approx. Rs.23, 000) that they don't have any C+ classes starting anytime soon and only 1 JAVA batch and that too only on weekdays(Mon, Wed and Fri) evenings from 7 to 9 PM was going to be started sometime in Jan'07. They "were not sure" as to when a next batch would start or what it's timing would be. So I had to get permission from my boss to let me off a bit early on these days and hurried straight to the centres. And guess what, invariably the classes used to get cancelled at least on 1 day every week. The express train that had zoomed out of the station turned out to be worse than a goods train trying to make it to its destination and the first half(core Java), slated to be completed in a month after having started in Jan'07, got completed only in April'07.
Throughout this period I kept asking about C+. My pleas fell on deaf ears. I got sick of it and pulled out. When I asked to be reimbursed fully at least for C+ the centre manager got everything(all materials) from me and told me I'll get the cheque for the whole course, including the books, in 15 days(sometime in September'07 after repeated follow-ups). I was not surprised when I didn't get any cheque and found out the centre manager had quit. The new "head" told me no refunds were possible. I am being transferred to a different place. I have asked for a transfer to their Centre in the city where I am being transferred to, for C+. Let's see what misery awaits me there.
Mr.Vishwanath Anand, if you are reading this, please do not degrade yourself by associating with such a worthless brand. You are the pride of our nation. NIIT is nothing but a big load of crap.
