Mahesh Manjrekar .... Luka

Director : Sanjay Gupta

Year Released: Dec 2004

Musafir begins with a flashback where Lucky (Anil Kapoor) has to do his one last illegal work after which he dreams of a house and his girlfriend Lara (Koena Mitra) to be along with him. But even though he is LUCKY ? his life has been very unlucky! His girlfriend Lara, runs away with his last savings with which he thought he could start a new life!

He gets to know that the money belonged to Billa (Sanjay Dutt) who is a big don. Billa is after Lucky now to get back his money. To save himself, Lucky strikes a deal with Billa. Lucky has to go to Goa , give a bag and get one back.

In Goa, Lucky meets Sam (Sameera Reddy) who is having a disturbed married life with Luka (Mahesh Manjrekar) Luka is always suspicious about Sam and thinks that she has extra-marital affairs with many people. Luka makes Lucky an offer to kill Sam because he suspects that she is a loose character.

Lucky, at first ignores the offer. But again he is not so lucky. He loses the bag he had to give to Billa and the bag contained money again! Lucky manages to pull off the drug deal for which he had come to Goa, but he loses the money while getting away from the cop Tiger (Aditya Pancholi). Lucky meets Luka again, who renews his proposal. Lucky hears his side of the story. Then he meets Sam. Hears her side of the story as well.

What happens next? Will Lucky be able to kill Sam..with whom he?s already in love? Whose plan will he execute eventually? Will he be able to pay back Billa?s money? Will he ever have a peaceful life?

This plot has too many twists. But the Hollywood style movie has taken over and is worth being seen. Sanjay Gupta?s Musafir takes you through a journey filled with immoral, money-hungry characters for whom material greed and deception are virtues to be worn on sleeve.

He has embellished his movie with stylish cinematography, overwhelming background music ,sepia-toned shots and slick editing.

Anil Kapoor is one reason why one can sit through the entire movie. His unkempt, disheveled look suits his character well and he has also acted brilliantly. Sameera Reddy gives a mature performance and Koena Mitra has a rather limited performance.

Ofcourse, not to forget our Sanju Baba. He is the show stealer. He has done his role excellently (of course he excels in the don fields). His big overcoat and his fashin style is amazing! His dialogues like ?Kahaan hai beta? Papa ko fikar ho rahi thi? and ?Aadmi musafir hai, aata hai jata hai, tu musafir hai aur tere jaane ka time aa gaya hai? are just excellent and most of the dialogues give you a comic tickle!

Mahesh Manjrekar too catches attention with his convincing act and Aditya Pancholi exudes shrewdness in his every glance.

On the whole, the movie is new for bollywood and surely a one to watch!
