Hello friends? I was just talking to a friend this morning and suddenly thought about this movie, especially the situation in this movie reminded me of the same. Mr.& Mrs. Iyer is a movie like a fresh air. Apart from the terrorist attacks and the communal riots, which are the issues in the movie, the movie talks a lot about relationships.
Yes! Now you guys must be thinking that its more to portray the religion differences and the riots etc but behind everything is a message of a love, humanity and relationship and how situation sometimes plays a role in building relationships and though there can be no name to it but is still as pure as nature.
The lead roles Rahul bose (Raja) and Konkana (Mrs. Iyer, Meenakshi) are wonderful and natural when it comes to acting. Meenakshi is Mrs. Iyer who is on her way back to Calcutta to her husband?s place with her infant son. Raja is a photographer by profession and heads towards same journey.
There are differences between them due to religion but they soon adapt to the situation. The various scenes in the movie are so touching. When there is a terrorist attack in bus and how Meenakshi saves Raja by giving her infant in Raja?s lap and addressing him as Mr. Iyer. The movie talks about humanity to be the single religion and is proved to be the same in situation in the movie. Another nice scene is when Meenakshi is sick of watching a man being killed and she is scared and Raja condoles and supports her.
The relationship, which springs out of the situation, is pure love. A relationship of trust and support. It?s true that they had to spend time together due to situation but in that short span they built a tender yet true and strong bond.
The last scene of the movie when she finally reaches her destination and meets her husband Mr. Iyer and they know that they are being apart and it?s the last time they see each other, is a beautiful scene. One can sense the pain in heart. Meenakshi breaks into tears while falling apart from Raja.
Its not about infatuation or attraction but it?s about a pure relationship based on trust and love. The message however can be interpreted like a relationship can spring out at any point in life and its true and pure when there is no motive behind it, it is built on its own naturally. And also we must understand that there cannot be always a name or an end given to relationships. They are better kept as it is,
I just can?t stop writing about various things that this movie has come out with. So many obvious things in life, which are never given a thought by us. We always see relationships with a name or the intension and we thereby end up abusing or thinking it in wrong sense. It?s high time we respect human beings, religion and human feelings and situations as much as we respect ourselves.
