Mphasis's problem is larger than their rest of their peers and the general sluggish market condition. Most of the company's problems are inherited within itself. I was with this company for many years before leaving this place. The company is on its deathbed and lost all major accounts and the remaining will be gone in the next one year. AIG gone to TCS, FedEx to Syntel, Telstra to IBM and QBE is gone. Politics is too much in Mphasis. You cannot find as many fanatics as you see in this company.
Every single account is run like a Kingdom ruled by Kings(DL or DH or DMs), who have no idea on managing or leadership. Each of these kings have their own chamchas(mostly DMs or PMs). None takes any ownership or accountability for their account or projects. One's caste, language and regional affiliation is the ultimate deciding factor for their growth. These guys keep selective technically strong people in their accounts to defuse customer anger. You will get good rating and better hike or onsite opportunities only if you have good rapport with your manager. Talent or skills does not count in Mphasis. Every second resume in Mphasis is a fake one.
Most interesting thing is most of the top guys of Mphasis have moved to US. Nobody knows what these guys do sitting in the US. None of them meet any customer or take any initiative to bring new business or work towards retaining existing business. All they do is travel to India every alternate month(of course at company's expense) and stay in India for weeks together(while getting paid in dollars). All these top guys are pure excess baggage and firing them will save millions every year.
You will have respect only when you are billable. Freshers cannot be insulted anything more. They are kicked between projects. Learning chances are very limited. HP dumped Mphasis only because of the dirty work culture and poor quality of people.
