Okay to begin with what I do, I'm a freelance writer from around 5 years now and just out of college finishing my graduation.
I had seen mouthshut.com ads behind rickshaws, some bill boards and all, but I had never even visited the website because the logo somewhat looked funny and didn't interest me much.
It was around 3 months or so, I wanted to order food from foodpanda.com, as I had downloaded their app and they had some offer which had 50% off or something like that. It has such bad customer service that the problem with the voucher could not be solved by that customer care representative and I had to disappoint everyone in the family and felt bad for not letting my mom cook and making her wait!
I was so frustrated that I googled about a website for writing reviews. I was so furious that I wanted to write reviews in more than 5 or 6 websites about them.
The first option was mouthshut.com and I started out writing here after signing up and after submitting, I got the option to share and I read about Write, share and win contest.
Since I have been through all the spam of view ad and make money, share links etc etc, I was not really ready to believe it.
Though I wrote a few reviews after which I started getting the money into the account and when it was 300, I could redeem. This was when I had to really know if this was legit, as I could not just let out all my personal information to some spammer and so I messaged around 4 to 5 people whose names was being displayed saying that they have won'.', '.' money and 3 of them replied within half an hour. This made me feel confident and I shared the bank details and as they said, the next payout day, I received the money to my bank!
The customer support is also good and people are responsive, they reply within 24 hours everytime! Like I have contacted a few times regarding some issues with the contest and I have got response within a day. This is very much appreciated.
Seriously speaking after all these years trying to make money on the internet, This is the only website I have earned so much in such less time and with such less effort!
Writing stuff for others, takes lot of thinking about the topic, make a write up, type it and submit and you would earn around 500 Rs say for more than 7 to 8 hours of work and you pay commission to the website who introduces you to the buyer, which is like 60 Rs, so you are left with the 440 or so and in that some little amount is lost during transaction and conversion rates(because it is usually in dollars).(Note: these are actual figures I have given of my work which I earn from a freelancing website).
But here, you are actually writing about the products that you have used, places you have visited etc., . that means the things that you are familiar with and for this, there is no doing research, no making notes or thinking for a long time. You just sit and recall what all you did in the place you visited or the specifications of the product you use and that's it, out your hands on the key board and let your thoughts flow through your hands!
You can actually write a review in 15 minutes giving all the details of the products including your stories!
So that makes 4 reviews per hour, 200Rs per hour and the same 7 to 8 hours spent in mouthshut can get you around 1500 to 1600 Rs!
Wow! This is like bonus+ mental satisfaction+ less pressure on the brain+ more joy! This is the reason I spend more time here than other websites these days.
To be frank, it is not just about making money here, I found a lot of interesting people as well! If you just go around and check a few reviews, there are such good writers here and they share their experiences along with funny incidents and with such humour, you will truly enjoy reading them. There are people well experienced with life, faced life's hardest and softest parts.
The bad part of mouthshut is that there are shitty writers too who write just some nonsense so as to earn money, I really wonder sometimes if such reviews were accepted for the contest and they were paid money?
Because I know how hard it is to get rid of spam and find legit places online to earn, but when you have got such a nice platform, I think it is our responsibility not to spam them with bad content.
Well I would certainly keep writing and reading here even if this contest is here or not, but I really do wish it never ends!;)
