INTRODUCTION

Love is in the air, and the government is trying to get rid of it………. And movies like this one are keeping the hope alive, and that is precisely why I am forced to write a review on this movie. I particularly don’t like this movie but at the same time it is not a movie that I spite. So that is why you see me recommending this movie, because the truth is that you can actually see this movie on a time pass basis, once.

STORY LINE

There is not much of a story line, but at the same time it is not one of the drab same old routine. Of course the whole boy meets girl, some problem arises, boy almost loses girl and then boy gets girl routine have been multiplied by three times. Frankly I think that is the limit. I will elaborate on this later.

Let’s get back to the story line. Three boys start their lives in a prestigious school, which is headed by a very strict traditional man (Mr.Bachan). The school is plagued by lots and lots of rules. Enters our hero Raj (Mr.SRK). He encourages the students to learn music and love, and then our three sub- heroes, fall in love and then the movie goes on to show how each one goes through trouble to realize their dreams.

The movie also throws light on the complex relationship between Mr.Bachan, Mr. Khan and Ms. Rai. Yup she is there too, as the dead love of Raj and daughter of the principal. The end of the movie is the reunion of all the three as a family sob sob!!!!!

MY TAKE.

Now I come to the part that I love the most. To make things easier, let us divide this section into things I like and understand and things I don’t like and don’t understand.

Things I like and understand.

The whole visual aspect of this movie is very appealing. Another thing in this movie are the songs. The songs are very catchy are one is actually able to sing along. They work out great when you are doing some job around the house. The costumes are good on most people too.

On the actors now. For once Mr. Bachan has been cast into a role that suits him. He has a commanding presence in this movie and has done justice to the role; his portrayal of a pinning father is touching. And his role as a strict principal could not have been performed better. His voice still holds the magic to retain everyone’s attention.

Coming to SRK. Well this movie is definitely one of the recent few that he has done where the role suits him. He has done a convincing job as a teacher and a pinning lover. This role permits him to act according to his age and thus he is able to perform with ought over doing anything. There are some places that the audience feels that he needs to calm down a little but then over all this is perhaps one movie where you are able to sit through his performance and maybe even enjoy it.

Ms. Rai performed well in her short and sweet role. And there is nothing else to it. Except for one dance the holi one, she performed very gracefully.

The new comers now that is a completely different story. I agree they are new and this was a big project. To read more on the same, all you have to do is just read on.

Things I do not like and I don’t understand.

The very first thing that I don’t understand is that, why do all the three boys have to fall in love in the same short span of time. And then to top it off, why do all three of them have to face some kind of problem? Is it that with ought every one facing some problem the movie would never have been possible? And how come if this was a supposed launch for a majority of them, then Ms. Shetty and Mr.Chopra got all the leverage? Is it because they were from filmi families?

Please someone stop Ms. Rai from doing the holi dance, a simple fact is that it does not suit her. Also will please someone tell me the school that the teacher holds class outside the school building, teaches students how to love, narrates his personal love story and best of all encourages the students to break every possible rule. And to top it all off he goes to the principal to make excuses for the students. Man that would be my dream school, so anybody who wants to join me there????

The think I don’t like about the movie is the new comers over acting in most of the scenes, but then maybe just maybe they, will improve as time progresses.

The role given to Anupam Kher was way below his caliber. Both him and Archana Puran Singh do their best as far as the role permits and actually manage to make one laugh.

CONCLUSION

As I mentioned before, this movie is good to see once, with your friends on a day when you have all the time in the world. But please leave your brains on the doorstep as you rather not have it with you during this experience. On the whole it is a normal experience. Though a little on the mushy and catchy side this movie did not leave a lasting impression on me. But at the same time, it is one of the few movies out there that can actually be sat through.

So friends enjoy this love story, perhaps knowing that this is one movie in these times that actually is being watched amidst all those melancholic and depressing movies that portray hell after the wedding ….wink wink!!!

Love and Peace
