I was here last Saturday along with couple of friends for a drink & some hookah. There was a match between England & SL that day.
Location: easy to spot beside Shiv Sagar… near churchgate railway station!
Ambiance: when we entered the place, there are 4 parts of this joint to be precise… One on the outside where F&B activities was carried out & a large screen was placed der 4 ppl to njy d match! This sight gave us a good presumption that things inside would be better where they serve hookah! But how wrong we were!!
The second section is a bit of lounge type where hookah’s were served along with food, which was quite OK types! The third one was the royal place type on a slight platform above the ground… may be ½ a floor up! This was the special lounge where things were slightly expensive… we were disappointed since there was no space available for 4 of us there!
The most horrible place was the smoking room (d 4th part of this place)…. U can say it as “bahar se sundar…. Sada hua andar”. Broken chairs… sofa’s with cigg holes & tables which must have been a century old… broken & somehow together!!! And to top it all, this was the only place available (no wonder why)! Crowd were mostly college goers or couples!
Our order: well, as I said earlier, we went there for a drink & hookah… we ordered a hookah along with few beers… one of the worst hookah I have ever had at a hookah joint… the flavor was so low… that we had to ask them twice to make it stronger! Beers weren’t chilled enough… it was on the room temp kinda types! Since we were meeting after a long time, we just went on with it! Hookahs in other mocha joints are much much better than the one I had here!! Wt a disgrace… they have taken ppl for granted… to make profits instead of providing a customer with good service to make them come back again at ur plce! No wonder, now I have written it off my list of hookah joints!
Price: the overall bill ran upto arnd Rs. 1500… with the hookah being charged at 495+taxes!! This is on the costlier side considering the kind of hookah we had! So, I felt being cheated on hookah!
Service: Well, with the kind of rush they had… the waiters were quite attentive & regular in replacing the coal as & when asked without taking a long time! We also made a special request of getting a cigar for us & though they didn’t have it with them at Mocha’s.. the waiter tried getting it for us from a nearby place! So overall, the level of service was pretty good!
Recommendable: You can go here, but don’t enter the smoking room on the ground floor or else it can just spoil ur mood! Otherwise, I have been here before too (but not for hookah) & enjoyed having a drink or two here in the open space outside! So overall, yes you can visit this place & I hope the management does something for the shabby smoking room!!
