Thought provoking movie. Review on Mitr

Mitr - my friend is a thought provoking movie in the sense that it touches one of the oldest institutions of the world ...no marks for guessing it right...yes it is marriage. Any married girl may identify with the character of the female lead of the film.

The storyline goes like a south indian guy meets a south indian girl and falls for her and marries her. Shortly after that, they fly off to abroad where Laxmi gives birth to a baby girl. Years pass by with the husband getting more and more involved in his career and the wife in bringing up the kid and household chores. When the girl grows up she

becomes rebellious and hates being told how to do things by her mother.

She leaves home for a boyfriend. The husband is also furious with Laxmi for not behaving properly with the girl. All these things hurt Laxmi so much that she seeks solace by chatting on the internet to a anonymous friend to whom she expresses all her emotions. She also revisits her old hobbies - carpentry and dancing. She is also supported by her neighbourhood friends.

Meanwhile, Laxmi's daughter gets beaten up by her boyfriend and is admitted to the hospital. Her mom could not stop herself from going to see her and then mother and daughter become friends again.

Later, daughter comes to know about her mother's internet friend and starts taking interest. She suggests that they should meet. On the venue fixed for meeting, Laxmi is startled to see that her internet friend is none other than her husband. Both are surprised but later realize that the secret of a successful marriage is love, time, and

care.

The movie is dubbed in English and most of the part has been shooted abroad. This is not a fun Govinda type movie and is meant for mature people. An offbeat movie.
