I was looking for a good accommodation for my family but options were very few – either they were budget hotels or expensive tea estates bungalows. However, I ended up in booking the Misty Creek Home Stay after talking to the owner Franklin Benjamin(nick name - Benny) from Delhi. We stayed here in June 2011 for 3 nights.
I must say that we had a brilliant time at this property. The room was spacious and had two double beds for my family(2 adults and 2 kids). The property is very neatly done and the quality of interiors, linens and equipments are very good. Being a home stay, you should not expect the location to be in a commercial street. It is situated on a corner plot of a residential street with fantastic views. It is way from the hustle and bustle of the main street, although the main street is also not more than 5 minute walk.
In addition to the cleanliness and brand new property, the best thing I liked about our stay was the warmth welcome and treatment by Benny, who took personal care of our food requirements and advised us on the itinerary on every step. He also came with us and organized a special trip for us to a view point and little trekking nearby the property to a waterfall, which we all loved.
I would highly recommend this property, whether you are a family or a couple on a honeymoon trip. However, please do not expect a 24 hour room or housekeeping service like a commercial hotel – after all it is a home stay!
