Normally I try to be pretty patient while writing a review. I try to cover all aspects of the movie and come up with a near objective analysis.

However, Mission Impossible III has rendered that part of brain which is responsible for logical/objective thinking. So this review might not actually be a normal/proper review.

Let me talk about the positives first. Here we go

Action scenes are fantastic and mindblowing.

Now for the negatives…

What? You were expecting some more positive points? Alot more?

Sadly, that is about it as far as MI III is concerned. Restof the movie is just crap. No logic; Loopholes the size of Lake Superior and an unbelievably stupid set of secret agents.

I have some questions. I’d be really grateful if any of youcould clarify them for me.

Question 1:

The agent who dies in the beginning sends a message to Ethan Hunt – “Ethan, the call originated from your super boss’s office. He is a bad guy.”Ethan Hunt, a very intelligent agent of the agency (IMF?) readily believes it without pausing for a moment why his boss would use an official phone from the office to contact the rogue guy even if the boss really was collaborating with the rogue. To me, an ordinary good for nothing software fellow it sounded like a setup and the first image that came to my mind was the immediate boss of Ethan Hunt. But Ethan doesn’t even give it a thought.

Question 2:

Alright, for the movie’s sake let us assume the rogue guy could pull some strings and get Ethan’s wife into Shanghai without raising any suspicion. How in the world did the three “Yes Boss” associates get all the information about the location of the Rabbit’s Foot – including the shape of the buildings next to it and their vital dimensions including the angle of slope of one of the buildings? That too before Ethan asks for it? Very very ultra intelligent thinking by them. I am fascinated really.

Observation 3:

The Rabbit’s Foot apparently is guarded by exactly three buffoons who are intimidated by a set of baseballs bouncing off the slanted roof. What happens inside the building is of no apparent importance.

Observation 4:

The adrenaline pumping action in the beginning of the movie (Rescue of Agent Lincy Somebody) – haven’t seen a more cliché ridden sequence in the recent past. One helicopter goes through the windmill. The second blindly follows to meet one of its blades. Agreed villains have to be dull. But this one takes the cake.

Observation 5:

The sequence on the bridge. All the main characters survive in what looks like a Pearl Harbor attack. There are bullets showering all over the place. There is Ethan Hunt running like a Ben Johnson without any cover. The bullets don’t hit him. If it happens in a Balakrishna Telugu movie, people laugh. Since this is Tom Cruise on the screen, we all gape at it with an incredible expression on our face.

Observation 6:

I am amazed at the gadgetry involved in all these operations. The one which Ethan uses to prepare the face mask is the highlight. How they transported all of it to Vatican is probably not needed for this story. You have laser beams measuring the distances – There are small charge driven explosives residing in your brain. And to ensure they don’t explode – you just put your finger into the plug point!

I have no words to describe the incredible cinematicexperience I have just had. I hope the CIA guys have seen this movie. Theydeserve a laugh or two.

By the way, who do you think is the most terribleactor in this movie? My vote goes to the while male associate from the three Ultra Intelligent Associates of Ethan Hunt.
