This was my experience with Meru, and I hope no one else has such an experience! Our vacations was totally messed up, thanks to Meru...!


We had a flight at 6 in the morning, the cab was requested to be at my place at 3:30... we started and met with an accident on the way! Thanks to the sheer negligence shown, a couple of signals were jumped in the morning and we went on to hit another car which was taking a u turn on the main road which could have been easily been averted. We were injured severely in the accident, and had to get stitches and other treatment before continuing the journey. In addition a lady in the other car was seriously ijured as well.


The crappiest thing was the way Meru reacted to this whole fiasco. They have no respect for the lives of people who take the cab. The safety features in the cab is terrible, no air bags, no rear seat belts, no ethics, and absolutely no intention of helping the passengers what so ever!!!


After having met with the accident, we called Meru, they had no plans of providing any first aid to us, thanks to the local people/police who forced them to send acorss another cab to take us to the hospital, we were taken to the hospital and left stranded, no Meru reps helping us through the fiasco! we had to literally get everything done at the hospital ourselves.


Calling Meru, they promised that they will call back in an hour's time and help us out, nothing happened, after about 1.5 hours still no call, and calling them again this lady Ashwini picked up, and promised another call after another hour, again no reply and further calls to them were falling on deaf ears!


These people Ashwini, Vijay they would just promise callbacks in some time, and had no intentions of keeping them up. The only thing they are bothered about is just the money and nothing else.One thing to be noted is that this is not the first time a Meru cab is involved in an accident, there are a lot of such instances, and there have been situations wherein the passengers have died in the accident as well.


I think the Airport Authority firstly should ban all Meru cabs inside the Airport premises, secondly the Meru services itself should be stopped. they should be trasporters of passengers not lives, and the lack of safety in their cabs just proves it! "Rely on us", I really dont think they understand the meaning of that... they should change their motto to "Meru - We Screw lives, Hope you get lucky"


Edit: Meru - killer cabs...On returning to Bangalore, we did not want Meru to get away easily, these people who would always say they would arrange for a callback when called would never keep up their promise and their socially irresponsible attitude would get onto anybody's nerves!


The best thing we could do at the airport, complain to the airport authority and inform them about Meru's killer cabs. well a couple of days later, I was surprised to get a call from Meru customer care, and this time it was not because of the complaint that we had made to them but it was because Airport authority had them questioned. this lady, Archana, calls me up, and she was asking me about the details of the accident, how very convenient, they do not record any occurences of any accidents, she has no idea of any accident that has occurred otherwise if not for the airport people! again she told me that a manager would callback within an hour's time... as usual typical Meru response, no calls from them! Such wusses, they are not even responsible for their actions!
