I am in India from Canada visiting some family. I was told about the Meru cabs when I arrived and I was pretty impressed to see such a service. Unfortuntely, my experience did not stand up to my first impression of this service. I have been here since 21st November and have almost called a couple of times daily for a cab but I have only once got a cab in all this time. If I call in advance of 24 hours I am requested to call again since cabs can only be booked within the 24 hour period and when I call on the dot of the 24 hours, I am always told no cabs are available. I wonder what is the idea of asking me to call on the dot of 24 hours when cabs are already given out and to add to that, the reps do not know the timing of the first available cab thereafter.
I am writing to ask how the process works and whether there is a differentiation as to who gets a cab and who doesn't. Incidentally, when I do walk out on the main road, I will see atleast 2-3 cabs idling there and the cab drivers taking a quick nap.
Would someone please explain before I leave for Canada on the 11th of this month? I don't want to go back home with a poor feedback of the'Premier Cab Service' and warn other passengers o f what they should expect when they call for a Meru cab during their travel to India.
Just as a fyi, I was looking to book a cab for December 7th @ 10 a.m. and another one for December 7th @ 8 p.m. for which I will call at 8 p.m. today(and surely be told that no cabs are available.
Thank you
