McDonald's is definitely in a class by itself. It is a world wide chain of fast food restaurants that has served millions of satisfied customers for years. Yes, there are a few dissatisfied customers who would put down the entire chain of restaurants due to a bad experience, but in my humble opinion, McDonald's has stood the test of time.
When McDonald's was first established, it was created with the family in mind. That philosophy still holds true today. For working moms and dads, a night out to the local McDonald's was not only a treat for the kids, a break for the cook in the house, but an affordable way to bond with the family. The family-style restaurant definitely caters to the child in all of us.
Sure, I have had bad experiences with food being served warm as opposed to hot, coffee being bitter instead of fresh, or salad that may have wilted lettuce leaves, however, overall, when I eat at McDonald's I know what I am getting. Usually, that is a delicious quick meal.
For the price, the quality of food is acceptable. I especially love the $1.00 menu. French fries for just a buck! A delicious chicken sandwich for just a buck!! Many other items on this $1.00 menu are perfect for a hot lunch or a quick snack.
Having eaten in many McDonald's restaurants in various cities across the United States, I can say with conviction that most employees are considerate and helpful. Sure, there are the occasional bad apples, as are found in all establishments. But, overall, I believe that to work a minimum wage job, standing on your feet all day, cooking over a hot grill, these employees do try to respect the customer.
My advice if you encounter a dirty bathroom, or rude employee is to report the incident to the restaurant manager. Give them the opportunity to make improvements. If your meal is unsatisfactory, bring it back and request a new sandwich that is piping hot and fresh!! That is your right as a paying customer.
Would McDonald's still be around after all these years if their service and food quality was not up to par? Wouldn't this chain have gone out of business long ago, as did Arthur Treacher's Fish and Chips, or many Arby Restaurants??
In conclusion, the next time you are in need of a quick hot meal, give McDonald's a second chance, realizing that it's not all that bad. You will have a decent meal, a break in the pocket book and a place to take your children to play or have their first birthday party!
Yes, you DO deserve a break today.
