Search for new small car hatchback is since last 6 months, I wanted to upgrade my M800 to new car. I took test drive , Indica Vista , that was first preferance as heard lot space in the same, Uva, Hyundia I 10 and Swift. I had earlier driven Grande Punto last 2 yr back. I shortlisted Swift considering its performace on road and stability.
Some of friends suggested to go for Swift Diesel as it will have less issues compared to petrol engine, finally streching my expenses finalised Swift VDi version. Still I was not 100% confident of 5.6 lacs for Vdi it seems expensive.
I went for showroom to book in Pune, dealer suggested new estilo launch, any way waiting list for Swift is 2 months, I thought better to wait till 25 Aug.
New Estilo. New Head Lamp has really jewel look , with interiors are improved compared earlier Zen Estillo with Dual Tone with matching seat Fabric , carpet and trim colours..i think first time I have seen Indian Car with different shade of trims other than typical Grey and Black interiors......Beige will be horrible to have .
Front seats are not comfortable, im 6 ft tall , my legs fouling with Front door arm rest .....felt pain in legs after 1 hour drive... .. Gear shifting is smooth with Cable type gear shifter, and sporty knob.
As there is no height adjuster on Driver seat , already seats are on high position.
Dashboard is dual tone , looks better and top surface is carry over from Wagon R and added additional part with Beige colour.....it looks better. A/C Knobs are of Old Style .....
To push sales , Maruti has really given better features in this car like Power Mirror, Rear Wiper with Defogger ....(I dont know how frequently people use that in India), Remote opening Fuel lid...and parcel Sheif. Rear seat with Flat fold ..Front fog lamps.
Space is more than enough for small family. ....They should given provision on Front Seat Head Rest .for DVD Player.. Front Head rests are Quite big one..
No change in Taillamp and rear panel. Rear and Front fenders are new and adding more to styling with Head Lamp.
Overall I felt it is major change done by Maruti considering cost of Car with KB series Engine( EuroIV) with new interioRs and given sturdy look to the car...
I think , this will be another benchmark for other car makers to do facelift versions with real facelifts not just changing seat fabric and lamps.I have decided to go for Vxi version , I would have prefered Zxi verison with CD Player with DVD Player on Front Head Rest.
