I want to purchase a car under 5 lac budget and considering my budget in mind, I initially opted for Wagon R Vxi. But my dealer suggested stingray and when I did in depth differentiation between Wagon R and Stingray, I decided to buy Stingray Vxi.
Main difference between wagon R and Stingray is its head light design and interiors. Stingray has got Projector Head Light which is first in its class and believe me folks its fabulous. The range of projector head lights is too far that you will have very clear vision in night. Other difference is Stingray has alloy wheels as compared to normal wheels in wagon R. Alloy Wheels make car more stylish. Interior is all black premium look while Wagon R has normal dual tone interior.
Additionally Stingray has Can holder which is missing in wagon R. Odometer is also stylish and has more options than Wagon R. Roof rails are missing but you will get spoiler instead.
Now as far as performance is considered, I have done more than 5500 Km in 4 months and I am getting mileage of 20+ kmpl on highways and 17+ kmpl in city with A/c on all time. engine is same K10 series and rest other things are same as Wagon R.
So if you are looking for a car with premium features in economic price then I will suggest you to give stingray a thought. I am not regretting my decision to purchase stingray and I hope neither you will. If you are planning to buy Wagon R, then do consider this option also.
You will get premium features just by paying aroung 20k more.
