I just completed 30K kms on my Maruti Suzuki SX4 VXi ( purchased August '07). It has been an exhilarating experience for most of the time with niggling problems and rattles rearing its head every once in a while.

The good news first - Until recently, I was driving on the jam packed, stop-go-stop roads of Delhi. Despite its size, the SX4 is nimble enough to negotiate bad traffic and  bad roads. Compared to a Ford Fiesta or Honda City ( which I also travel in often), the pothole bumps hardly register inside. Also, the the cabin space and high seating pain  doesn't give me a pain in the knees , operating the clutch and gas pedals. Which I get in both the other cars mentioned. Mileage is 10km/ lit constantly.

For the last month or so, I've been driving on the relatively uncongested Faridabad- Gurgaon roads. It's sher delight to drive on open, winding roads and at the sl;ightest push on the accelarator, the car surges ahead, leaving a lot of other cars behind. The mileage has risen to 12.5kms now.

The bad news - My dashboard rattles, the driver side window rattles, the gear's aren't as fluent to operate anymore, it squeaks, the suspension is also not as sprung as it was, needs a bit of tightening up there. ( the result of driving thru  some really bad roads for about a month recently). Though I'm hoping all of  it'll all be fixed during my next service, next week and my in-built Music player buttons have started  act-up. I press FM button, the CD starts playing or vice-versa.

And I am hoping to drive this car for the next 4 years, and planning to cover around 1, 50, 000 by then and believe me, this is the only car in this segment that looks like going that distance without falling apart.

Maybe even a higher class.. My friend sold off his Scorpio in 2 years 'cos it was coming apart. The Optra doesn't look and feel sturdy enough..The Civic scrapes at every bump. So well, overall for our driving conditions, the SX4 tops!!

So guys at Maruti, Suzuki, you got a winner on your hands!

Thanks.
