I've been driving for 4 yrs now. Had a 800 before, changed to Baleno LXi in feb2005.
It was the best buy for me..after researching for more than 6 months I finalised Baleno. The most attractive part is the Price Tag...you get a powerful suzuki engine and almost 20-30% lesser than its honda and hyundai counterparts.
Handling is wonderful, it goes smoother as you get faster..a bit jerky on slow drives though. Excellent power on the steering, you can almost ride single handed on all curves.
Exteriors are a bit outdated..i dont know why cant they make it more complete with offering better paint, clear view lamps, providing demister etc on basic model as well.
Interiors are ok, but surely could have been better. Its really not the one which you would admire about. But may be thats the compromise for the price you pay. The good thing is you are not compromising on the engine..which is of course more important.
Problem The gear lever is still nave. You have to almost exercise all parts of your hand when you want to stop and go in big traffic. Overall its a comfortable drive but could have been better.
Overall Value for Money, indeed Surprising Performance, a bit lacking on comfort and a lot of looks.
