I bought Astar a month back and has travelled about 5000 Kms. Its a wonderful car with all latest features incorporated. Previously I own/owned Alto, Maruti Wagobn R, Zen Estilo, Santro. All are good but Astar wins hands down when it comes to performance, style, mileage and engine refinement. I bought it after disposing of my faithful 5 yrs old Santro, and I am not regretting it. Astar fills the bill of my requirements perfectly.
Looks
Its a head turner. Wherever I park it at least five people ask me about the car or some just stare with envious look. It has a sports car look with bulging eyes. It looks like a mean machine and yes it is. I bought sunlight copper colour and the car looks so striking in that colour that it stands out from the crowd whenever I park it. No car looks better than it. Forget what was displayed in World Expo and what they delivered.
*Performance
*Performance of it is no ordinary. Even with 3 cylinders and 998 CC engine it is the quickest small car and just go vrrom vroom, like a sports car. I just love the way it handles start and stop. Gears fit into thir respective places perfectly unlike Wagon R and Estilo Zen which have notchy gear box and you never know when the gear will stuck and refuse to move into its place.
*Ride
*Ride quality is fine because of nice suspension. Engine vibrations/road jerks are well insulated reaching to pessangers. Driving it is such a pleasure which makes u miss the actual destination and drive till ur fuel tank becomes empty. At 100 it cruizes smoothly, push the paddle littel harder, it will change its tone to deeper voice tell you'if you wann go, I am also ready'. I have driven it till 130 Km/hr without even a single shudder in chasis. I just love the way it handles speed as well as corners.
*Interiors
*The seats are low(remember, its not a tall boy model, like Wagn R or Santro). For ladies it might become cumbersome to see the clear road ahead. I have bough a small seat cushion for the ladies of the home, when they have to drive it. Seats definitley could have been more comfortable. Boot space is less but can comfortable accomodate one suitacase and a bag. Black and grey cobination of interiors look good and modern. Thank God its not beige like i10, which gets reflected in the wind screen. It can easily accomodate 4 people, but fifth one will definitelt be squeezed within.
*Mileage
*Since I am not using Air Conditioner these days, on highway/city mixed it is giveing 22-23Kms/Litre. I think that will elbow out all other cars in competition. What do you want more? Bacche ki jaan loge kya?
*Conclusion
*It is a perfect city car for a family of four. Good to handle weekend jaunt. If you are planning to carry a marriage luggage then don't crib, just add a carrier on the top. Don't ignore this car because of boot space. Its very hard to get a car which gives you such a style/pic up without compromising on fuel efficiency. Its a small intelligent car in different league, just own it even if you a little thoughful and doubtful. Surely - Ho Jayega Pyaar Holle Holle. Have a nice drive
Ps: I had the test drive of 110 also before buying the Astar, although that seemed a little more spacious but it drives same as Santro(my personal opinion), while driving experience in Astar is miles ahead. Life me'space' hi sab kuch nahin, give some thoughts to style, speed and perfromance, ofcourse great fuel efficiency you are getting as bonus.
