Good to know you have fixed on the Eritga. Now, between the petrol and diesel options - it looks like you drive close to 1500 Kms in a month ( 1200 km commute + 300 Km trip) . Given that, it looks the diesel is going to be the better choice.
But here’s one other thing you need to think about - ownership period.
If you are looking to own the Ertiga for 5/+ years, a diesel would be fine. If we do some basic math using difference in price of the petrol and diesel variant & difference in price of fuel and fuel economy, you’d notice that you might break0eve ( or start seeing the benefit of a diesel) sometime just before the 4th year of ownership.
