After decades of coexistence, every Indian is eager always to hear news from Maruti Suzuki. Me not an exception, upto date about the product since its launch. Its first sight in the local showroom display didn't upset me either - meaning it is definitely a nice attempt, cute to see, out-of-box thought etc etc.

Hold on! Don't hurry! Go nearer to it, play with it for sometime and soon when the magic spell of its media publicity fades away - you start realisng the toy in your hand.

Eeco is an outcome of obedient engineers who just executed vision of Maruti Suzuki senior managament. It promises to provide a fresh and powerful MUV at a very competitive price, but with half hearted attempt. It has`power and capacity but no comfort.

Exterior design for this vehicle has infinite scope for improvement. I'll BLAME the engineers for not being proactive in taking design into consideration. Few basic changes alike APV or Estillo curves rather than sticking to Omni box would have avoided this feedback. Similar gaps in design is seen for crampped leg space due to protruding mud guards.

The later is more serious to me as it will disturb driving experience. Engine is still fit under the front seat, resulting in overheating cabin during Indian summers. Rear seats too are uncomfortable, mainly due to bench like structure and short backrest. Sitting comfort is further affected by width of the vehicle. How can someone fail to realise that this vehicle is intended for carrying people and goods but not people like goods!

There are certain things you can't disagree about Eeco, but thats limited to theory. To summarise I can bet one thing about Eeco for sure, every reviewer will have mixed assessment of it. It will be very interesting for me aswell to read and get to know newer findings.
