Mardaani, much awaited film stars Rani Mukerji’s . The film is social film, with which Rani is making powerful comeback at the box office. The film focuses on the women empowerment and Rani in lead works as role model for that. The director Pradeep Sarkar who comes up with socail issue movie does a good job.
Ever since ‘Kahaani’, 'Queen', ‘English Vinglish’ set the box-office trend, where bollywood female actors are making their mark and making a film a commercial hit on their own . So, Rani Mukerji is bang on trend, when she single-handedly pulls of her home production ‘Mardaani’. With so much going for ‘Mardaani’, though its filmmakers failed to pull it through.
But still it is a good watch as it is much better than bollywood masala movies.
Rani Mukherji plays a police inspectors roll named Shivani .The movie kicks on from the day Shivani takes a critical case where a girl named Pyari gets kidnapped and the kidnapper was belonged to trafficking mafia who used to smuggle the girls outside the country. Shivani is a very bold character and has a very different way of approching a case.
When the kidnapper finds that her case is taken by Shivani then the kidnapper tries to exhort her by giving her a fair warning to not to interfere in his matter. On the contrary Rani Mukherjee, Shivani put a bug in his ear about that if he will not release the girl then she will arrest him in next 30 days. The movie is all about how she manages the case and it is worth a watch.
Mardaani is a kind of movie which, despite its not so unique plot, governs one's attention for the awareness it raises on the widespread sex-trafficking in the country. The build up to the actual climax is as interesting as it can get, but the thrill fizzles out with a tried-and-tested conclusion. In a nutshell, this film sure has its heart in the right place.According to me it is easily a 3/5 movie .
