My father in-law was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. Dr.Somashekar, Dr Amit Rauthan, Dr Raj Vigna Venugopal were the main consulting doctors to recommend surgery for removing 70% of the liver. The patient also had cirrhosis in additional to cancer but the doctors with the intention to earn money convinced him to undergo surgery. The surgery was successful but cancer relapsed after a few months. The patient suffered a lot after the surgery, most of his last few months undergoing painful procedures and antibiotics making his pending life in this world a hell.
It's better to be safe than sorry. This realization came after the surgery was over. When we consulted other oncologists, the surgery was a bad recommendation by Manipal doctors and chances of patient recovering after the surgery is 0%.
Why did they recommend the surgery when the practitioner know there's no possibility to recover after the surgery. To me, it's pure commercial motive. Once a patient undergoes cancer surgery, they have to spend half of their pending life visiting hospital for checkups and additional procedures. finally increased revenue for the hospital and doctors.
