A lesson to learn. Review on Mangal Pandey - The Rising

Hi Folk's.

Suprisingly I usually never go to theatres in Dubai but yesterday a family friend took my hubby and me for Mangal Pandey and believe me no regrets as it thought me and a few others a few home truths.

First only Aamir could have played this role it suited him to the t as they say.

No doubt there were a few hard hitting facts as uptil now the Goras call Indians Black dogs.

Not knowing their women prefer the blacks as shown in Lagaan.

Aamir has brought us back in time to celebrate our Independence day.

The story revolves on Indians and how the English ruled, to say most of them the earlier English were brought up by the milk of our nation mother's and till now they show us no respect, which is a hard fact to digest.

Not only I enjoyed the movie but some scenes touched you like when he is wrestling with Gordon the English officer how they converse and each wins in his own way.

The truth is we learnt who was the man who brought about a change to us people and arouse the feeling of freedom.

Yes there will be some who may go to watch it with no understanding it will be unfair.

Because the music is good as well as the scence of the Rangoon army coming and how they are faced.

No doubt it is a historical movie but well made. For once I can say watch it once.

The story is set in the times when India was being ruled by the East India Company, among their army is a Mangal Pandey a religous Brahman.

On the whole he has an officer Gordon as his friend who he saved on the grounds of battle once and how their friendship is exploited by a fellow officer and creates a rift between two good friends who could die for one another.

How a misunderstanding brings out the anger of Mangal to go against him and the whole army to free his country.

How a nautch girl sold in the market makes Mangal want to rescue and love her.

How an English officer and his army man Mangal save a sati and Gordon falls in love with her these were times when they were the best of friends.

And how in a weak moment a man betrays Mangal and his army.

Yes there is a lot to see and learn if you want to from Mangal Pandey.
