Hi people, well each one of us drive vehicle but have you ever thought why most of the vehicles start creating trouble after three or four years of purchase. It happens because most of the people don’t know how to drive well and also they do not maintain their vehicles. Well some people complain that a particular vehicle has high maintenance cost but that’s not true because maintaining a vehicle is not costly, if done wisely. If we follow some of the following tips driving/maintenance will be easier, smooth, safe and cheap.


TIPS FOR GOOD DRIVING




  1. Do not start moving or race the engine immediately after starting. Run the engine for a minute at idle speed to give the oil a chance to work up into the engine




  2. Do not race the engine excessively




  3. Always avoid harsh braking; this may damage your break drum.




  4. For better FUEL ECONOMY, change the gear as given below






Change 1st to 2nd gear at 10 kmph


Chance 2nd to 3rd gear at 20 kmph


Change 3rd to 4th gear at 30 kmph


Drive at 30 to 50 kmph in 4th gear.




  1. Cut off engine if you want to stop for more than two minutes.




  2. Always keep specified running in speed.




  3. Do not switch off the engine when vehicle is in Motion.




  4. Do not start the vehicle by pushing or towing or coasting down a hill






FUEL SAVING AND MAINTAINEANCE TIPS:


Following are a few simple tips for keeping your vehicle healthy and your pocket wealthy




  1. Check all fuel lines and connections whenever your vehicle smells of petrol




  2. Never fill the petrol up to the filter cap.




  3. Always maintain the recommended tyre pressure and check it every week.




  4. Ensure that brakes are not dragging/binding.




  5. Inspect and clean the spark plug, adjust the gap as recommended.




  6. Use only recommended grade & quality of engine.




  7. Service the carburetor and adjust idling speed as recommended.




  8. If there is any power loss, then contact respective dealer and get the vehicle properly tuned.




  9. In the event of engine misfiring or other apparent loss of performance approach to the nearest service station.






10.  Always keep your vehicle clean, give atleast five minutes from your daily life to your vehicle.




  1. Check engine oil level weekly.




  2. Replace the engine oil in accordance with periodic maintenance chart.




  3. Park the vehicle on level surface at centre stand.
