Madurai, in my opinion, is a village with an airport.
And the airport bears the landmarks of a typical Indian Village .
No facilities worth its name that the airlines passengers deserve, especially at the skyrocketing airfares.
They have been announcing of remodelling but by the thime they execute, the airtravels might be outmoded, superceded by rockets.
The road to Airport is most congested and indisciplined traffic. They constructed a flyover to avoid a railway track, but it is not of much use, since the width is just less than 12 metres.
There is a bypass road skipping a village but the access is again dominated by unauthorised occupants on both sides of the raod.
If check-in time is 2 hours you should leave your room three hours before.
