Most people unlike me, don’t really know what it is like to live abroad because they are stuck in their own wonderful place in India where they get their pani puri’s, their garma garam jelebis, the rickshaws, going to the cinema to watch a hindi film or just enjoying the wonderful atmosphere there is to give you enough satisfaction of “I’m in one of the most coolest places in the world!”. Those are the things that I really miss the most in my life! I guess it must be just destiny on where it takes you, or probably you ask that question “Where Am I Going??”. So I am going to tell you some points about living abroad and how it effects you from living away from a wonderful place just like India.

~Living In India~

India is a place one can always enjoy being in. They enjoy the atmosphere, they enjoy everything that will always go on there! It is a place where you can do almost anything you would really want to do. To me it’s almost a totally different world!!! :P… The different languages, the clothing, the Taj Mahal and just a place of a lot of fun people to be around with! (except the gunda at the cinema ok?? :P).

Now here we come to the opponent of this game.

~Living Abroad~

Living abroad may matter with the place you are living in. It can be in the USA, Europe or for instance the Caribbean! There is a whole lot of difference with living in these places and in India. It may give you a whole other effect of even living! Though it is a sort of obvious experience. Almost everywhere abroad has same food, same clothing, almost the same culture and the same celebrations! So it isn’t really a place where you see something new to catch your attention. Though I’m not saying not to live abroad away from a place like India.

~The Good Side Of Living Abroad And India~

There can be many similarities that Living Abroad and Living In India have! Those are:

  • Some places abroad have cinemas that show hindi movies, now that is particularly not really a must for foreign countries….but yes…the places with a lot of Indian people would be able to show hindi films once in a while.

  • Most places abroad may also have restaurants which are Indian! Which is very good actually. Most tourists who are not looking forward to going all the way to places like India can just experience a little something different. Which I am sure would be a good experience!

  • Most places abroad also have Indian shops where you may find some Indian clothing or food. Good for those living abroad and are Indians so that they would not have to make any trouble by going all the way to India and get all the things they need sometimes unnecessarily.

  • Most places abroad like in the USA have many cultural places like temples so wedding ceremonies and other special events can take place without going to India also. Though they are mostly used for wedding occasions!

~The Bad Side Of Living Abroad And Not India~

Well to me..there are more bad side rather than good sides while living abroad. Those are:

  • Even though you might be eating Indian food, wearing Indian clothes or even celebrating the cultural events it may still not seem like you are in India. You will always get the impression that you are not in India…well unless you are!

  • It is very hard to find people who are nice and caring from India like people really are in the actual country though most people get very lucky to find good friends like from different parts of the world but not in India.

  • You may not get a good chance to speak your own mother tongue because there may be hardly no Indians who speak Indian! So it kind of gets you use to talking to those in the local language where ever you live.

  • Even though there are Indian shops around the area you are in…you may not be able to find the same quality of clothing or food like how you find the ones in India.

  • You don’t get the auto rickshaws abroad :P….well maybe only the little toy ones which you get just stick up in your room, on your shelf! Hehe…

  • There is just no interaction with people than like you have with your friends and family in India. As there is nothing to do but sit at a pizza restaurant and eat all the cheese from the pizza leaving the dou ( meaning your depressed!).

Now you see the pain I go through na everyone! :P..Ahh well aise hi jeena paregi mujhe!

So well...living abroad isnt that bad, though I would've really really liked the have been living in a place like India right now. Though I wouldnt really say that living in the Caribbean is a problem..there are many neighbouring islands with all sorts of different indians all around...though the population of indians seems to be even lesser than it use to be! So do try it out by living somewhere abroad and see how it feels. Im sure it would feel pretty wierd at points but no harm in trying at all! Your choice!
