Have you ever come across a patient complaining of undergoing major eye surgery after a simple catarat surgery!
No..!
But the story is different in my case where my mom who underwent a Cataract surgery at Lions a charitable Hospital has to undergo a major approx. 2hr eye surgery at AIIMS. Thanks to teh negligence committed by Dr. Deepti Kamal who impresses people at the first meeting by being very soft spoken and very kind in all her actions. But we have fallen prey to all mer marketing stunts and she has been teh reason of my mom's pain.
Though claiming to be very expereinced and we visting her as teh private patient paid a lumpsum of Rs.9,500 for the cataract surgery. This does not include the visting charges and the medical investigations like Sugar Testing and Urine Culture etc. Some oral medicines and some eye drops we had to buy post surgery.
During the surgery she did not remove the cataract layer and instead craeted a rent (hole) in teh my moms retina. And fitted the lens and came out claiming that surgery was succesful. She kept on fooling us for 2weeks saying your mom is showing very slow improvement signs, which is 1:1000. And suddenly on 25th November she asked us to consult senior Dr R P Singh sitting on the first floor for opinion for whihc we had to pay extra Rs.300 for the 5 minutes consultation and thus it was declared that my mom needs to go for a major eye surgery.
From 11th Nov, the day surgery took place till date my mom has not been able to regain her vision. She when asked to compensate and recommend a good doctor at AIIMS as we now dont trust the Lions panel now. She got angry and refused to help. Instead she said you coem on 30th and she will again make the file and will complete the papers as per the rules set by the authorities meaning that now she wanted to remove those loop holes in the papers so as to get rid of any trouble (Legal Actions).
I had to pay 15k at AIIMS for the surgery in the General patients category. The thing is that I want justice for my moms trouble caused by DrDeepti. She does not feel like being sorry. The Ex-Governer, Lion Hospital Mr. Javeri threatened and challenged us to take whatever actions we want to take against them.
Can Doctors escape saying that they are Not God? By mere signing the acceptance paper before surgery means that Doctors can do anything can be negligent as per their wishes? If an operation is successful the credit goes to the doctors but if something goes wrong then its not doctors to feel responsible?
I want the help from all the members of MouthShut Community. Come with solutions what should I do? Should I take any action against her so that she does not repeat it in future with the poor and illiterate patients visiting her?
