There are good film. Then there are film with good intentions. Laal Rang belongs to the second lot. Syed Ahmad Afzal's film makes its story idea apparent in the title. Laal Rang is about the bussiness of blood. The fim tries setting up drama using illicit blood trade as a backdrop.

Film based on realism call for credible research and sriting. Laal Rang reveals neither. The script penned by Afzal and co-writer Pankaj Matta is too uneven to hold interest. The shoddy writing also affects the character sketches. In turn, the acting overall suffers.

Akshah Oberoi plays Rajesh, a youngster in love with college mate Poonam( Piaa Bajpai) .

Poonam's yearning for big money drives Rajesh to work with shankar( Randeep Hooda), who runs an illicit blood bank. For a while, Rajesh has a brisk income. Problem arises when he falls out with shankar, and a tough cop( Rajesh Duggall) comes to town.

As a suspense drama, the film lacks genuine moments that may keep you on the edge. As a realistic tale, the film is too slipshid to be taken seriosly. Despite a rocking act by Randeep Hooda, Laal Rang is too colourless for impact.
