...I have had a bad morning. After waking up and discovering that my lovely straightened hair had managed to defy gravity once more and become wavy again, I was already in a bad mood. And then I found out that my cousin had ‘accidentally’ thrown my revision notes (which took me five hours to write) into the bin. And finally, even objects managed to turn against me. Whilst chasing her down the stairs, I fell down the last two steps and managed to do something or another to my ankle.

So being hot, flustered and bothered, I decided to revert to the sole in the world which helps me to calm down: music. Seeing as so many people have already reviewed the Kyun ki album (meaning there’s no reason why you should read mine), I decided to listen to it and find out what all of the fuss was about! And guess what? It cheered me up immediately! :-)

So ‘why’ did I decide to write a review on this album? Kyun ki (because) it made me smile! :-)

This album is another fabulous one from Himesh Reshamiya, who although doesn’t add anything new into the world of Indian music, still manages to produce some wonderful melodies. After the disastrous popularity of Just Chill, which I am still at a loss to understand (but that’s just me), I was wondering if the next Salman Khan film would bring yet again another cheesy album. But it didn’t, and I am very impressed! :-)

Kyun ki itna pyar tumse:

This is a very sweet song, sung by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik. Obviously with these two singers, it is very rare to not have such a beautiful song, which carries with it a sweet melody and romantic https://lyrics. This song has some gentle piano music playing in the background at the beginning, which is later supported by a smooth ‘tabla’ beat. It carries with it some of the sweetest music of the modern day. Rating: 4+

Kyun ki itna pyar tumko karte hai hum,

Kya jaan loge humaari sanam,

Kyun ki itna pyar tumko karte hai hum.

Dil keh raha hai:

This is my favourite song out of the whole album and one I cant stop listening to. Sung in Kunal Ganjawala’s sensuous voice, it is without a doubt a song sung with great feeling. The lyrics are very cute, from a guy’s perspective asking a girl to love him. The beat is quite fast and the drum in the background adds lots of flavour to the song. The melody is sweet and this song is a pleasure to listen to. Rating: 5+

Dil keh raha hai, dil se yun rishta jodthu,

Teri dhadkano ko chulu, tera jism audhlu.

Dil ke badle sanam:

This is yet again another romantic melody, sung again by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik. This is probably because the whole film revolves around love. I think the background beat is somewhat similar to that of Kyun ki, but it is still an independently fabulous song, about how the couple have given each other their hearts and their lives. This song isn’t very fast, so it would be perfect for a slow dance. Rating: 4

Dil ke badle sanam, darde dil le chuke,

De chuke, de chuke, tujhe dil yeh dil de chuke

Jhatka Maar

I am guessing that this is an item number, (thought not too sure) because the lyrics and melody carry with them some signs of one. Nevertheless, it is still a wonderful song to dance to because of its fast beat and rhythmic background music. It has a very ‘traditional’ feel to it and runs along the lines of Kajra Re and Akhiyon se Goli Maro and obviously has random men “ooh-ing” and “aah-ing” in the background! :P It has been sung by Udit Narayan, Shaan and Kailash Kher. This is one of the favourites in the album! Rating: 5

Jhatka mare, dikhte hai tare,

Dekho dekho jaaye sarakhta,

Arre re re re re goli mare tera dupatta

Ae jeele ek pal mein

This is a slower song compared to the rest, but that doesn’t make it any less sweeter. I really like the lyrics of this song, saying how every different part of nature says to live a hundred lives in just one moment. Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik sing it in their beautiful voices but I think the message of this song resembles Kal Ho Naa Ho to an extent. The melody is really cute and makes the whole song sound smooth and sugary. Rating: 4

Mausum ne kaha phoolon se,

Phoolon ne kaha khushboo se,

Khushboo ne kaha bhanwron se,

Bhanwron ne kaha shabnam se,

Aa jeele ek pal me sau janam

Along with these beautiful songs, the album holds four more tracks. There are three more versions of Kyun ki, which I find a waste of album space because they practically all sound the same. The last track is a remix of Dil Keh Raha Hai, which is a great song to dance to!

Overall, I think this album is the right one to listen to whenever you need cheering up because it has some wonderful songs in it, however I think that the director shouldn’t have put four versions of Kyun ki into the album because it gets repetitive. My favourite as I’ve already said is Dil Keh Raha hai, and if you really cant be bothered to listen to the whole album, then do check this song out because it is fab! (in my words :P)

Kyun ki we all need some music in our lives. Oh and I cant forget: Kyun ki saas bhi kabhi bahu thi :P

Don’t forget to RRC…I doubt I’ll be writing for a while because the dreaded E word are looming near. But I’ll try and reply to your comments! :-)
