Sanjay Chhel’s Kya Dil Ne Kaha was one of them time wasting films that give you a headache from the minute to watch it. I expected more from this film as Tusshar Kapoor had come to Bollywood with a bang from, ‘Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai,’ and Esha Deol with ‘Koi Mere Dil Se Pooche,’ however, you cannot blame the actors if there is a fault with the script.

So the story begins…

Esha (Esha Deol) wants to go to New Zealand for her studies but being a girl from an over-protecting family they disagree at once. However, Esha convinces them that she is an Indian and she will not run off with a non-indian. After, Esha begs them they agree.

Esha flies of to New Zealand where she does not get the admission into the college. She is hurt and upset and then this young man later revealed to be Rahul (Tusshar Kapoor) starts playing pranks on her along with his silly friends. Esha has enough but then Rahul pleads with the Principle that Esha should be let in. The couple becomes friends and this turns to love. Rahul does a lot of flirting with Esha, which messes up the film. The next scene comes and there fling home to India. Esha’s parents find out that she is in love and go to Rahul’s house to ask if Rahul will marry Esha. Surprisingly, he says no. Why? Because of his parents failed marriage. The rows he has seen them in everyday during his childhood. The film is more than pathetic as Rahul says that a woman doesn’t have to marry a dog to say with him. The film does in the end heat up, as Esha is off to marry someone else whilst Rahul is on the leave. Will they meet? Will they marry?

The Other Stars

Raj Babbar, (Esha’s Father)

Neena Kulkarni,

Ashok Saraf,

Dilip Thadeswar,

Rajesh Khanna,(Rahul’s Father)

Smita Jaykar

The Performances

Esha and Tusshar, the main characters of the film were not so impressive in the film.

Esha looks beautiful and masoom yet looking beautiful does not bank so much at the box office.

Tusshar, the son of the Jumping Jack, disappoints as well. He does not suit in playing a young pranking, dirty talking man. His lines are not delivered as well as he has done in his debut. He needs to walk on his actions they could be immensely improved.

Raj Babbar and Rajesh Khanna’s roles are very wasted along with the other family members. It is no good including a massive family when they are going to have little scenes.

The Music

The music was claimed a hit, with numbers like ‘Taaza Taaza’ and ‘Nikamma’ rocking the Music Industry. However, fitting them into the film and you don’t know where half of them came from.

Overall, the film is an utter time waste with no script and extremely bad direction. Nothing is worth watching the film. Even, if you are a fan of Esha or Tusshar you will come out disappointed.
