Looking for an Indian break away from India? Destination Kuala Lumpur is one of the most happening places. The very experience from entering the KLIA terminal is fascinating.
KLIA is a wonderfully well developed airport with a design inspired by Hong Kong international terminal. The terminal in itself is a very good experience. Strategically located between Kuala Lumpur city & Port Klang. Kuala Lumpur popularly known as KL, is a small city with population of about 2.5 million people.
Most of the tourist highlights of KL are situated around the KLCC ie Kuala Lumpur City Centre. Around this place, you will get a fantastic view of the Twin Towers a visual treat to one and all and an icon by itself. KL is a city you can go about by yourself without the need for a guide.
An ideal trip would be to start your day by going to the 88 storeyed twin towers. They allow visitors to go up to the bridge at 41st floor. They allow 20 people at a time upstairs for 10 minutes. They release 1400 passes a day so make sure you go there by 8:00 - 8:30 am in the morning.
Around the KLCC are places like Victory Monument, the National Museum, The Supreme Court across which is a lush green outfield for cricket. After you are through with the site seeing around KLCC, time for shopping at the arcade at KLCC. After having gone through these treats, you may wish to pick up some 'genuinely fake' merchandise at Petaling Street popularly called China Town.
If you want to gift your friends with Rolex, this is the place to pick it up. You can bargain here as much as you want but before you pick that piece, ensure that its a Rolex & not Roulex.
