Krrish is largely inspired by Hollywood hit Spiderman.Bollywood directors are seldom successful at remaking their adaptations as successful as the Hollywood originals. But Krrish is one of the few Hollywood remakes that still manage to entertain, the second time around.

Without any doubt ,it is one of the most stylish film attempted this side of the Pacific, with all sorts of Bollywood Masala thrown in to enliven the proceedings. A glossy product, it takes Bollywood a step forward in terms of technique!

The movie starts off with Rekha realizing that her grandson Krishna (Hrithik) has inherited the super powers from his father Rohit which was given to him by the alien Jadoo.

As he grows up, he becomes more powerful that he can run faster than a horse, climb trees & mountains like monkeys, catch fish from the pond with just his hands, etc.

One day, Krishna saves a Singapore based Indian girl, Priya (Priyanka Chopra), who is on a tour to the place where Krishna lives. While Priya is amazed by Krishna’s extraordinary skills; Krishna, on the other hand, falls in love with Priya.

After Priya goes back to Singapore, she wants to reveal Krishna’s talents to the world and make him a celebrity . So in order to make Krishna come to Singapore, she lies to him about being in love with him.

Before leaving for Singapore, Rekha tells Krishna the story behind the death of his father and also makes him promise that he’ll hide his talents from the world.....

Though the story has a lot of twists and turns Rakesh Roshan is able to remain focused for the most part and not let the viewer get confused. The climax is a bit dragged and could’ve been shorter. There are also a couple of loopholes in screenplay which are not explained.

Technically the film is ace. The action sequences are some of the best one has witnessed on Indian screen. Though I do wonder why they chose to incorporate some of the exact same sequences that were done in Spiderman.

The cinematography is also good - though Rakesh Roshan should’ve been a bit more cautious, there are too many shots with the the same Singaporean buildings in the background, and they could’ve been digitally removed. Music by Rajesh Rosan is okay, picturisations of “Dil NA” and “Chori Chori” are well done. The film is very glossy, and the credit goes to Rakesh Roshan for not compromising anywhere.

Krrish undoubtedly belongs to Hrithik. He contributes enormously to some of the best moments of the film. The role of a Super hero is sure to win him awards, accolades and plaudits.

Rekha is proficient, enacting her role with elan. Naseer is not as convincing, mainly because the screenplay doesn't offer him enough scope. Priyanka is alright.

Krrish is basically paisa vasool entertainment, and Rakesh Roshan can thank his crew and a few cast members for that.
