Koi Mil Gaya (KMG) the much awaited film of the year is finally released.

Hrithik Roshan began his career in the year 2000 with his Papa Rakesh Roshan's Kaho Na Pyaar Hai. Which was a fabulous hit, just one film and the public and media placed Hrithik on the top of the topper's list. As it is said it is easy to reach the top but difficult to stay for a long time, this proved true even in Hrithik's case. After a fantastic opening he came out with string of average or flop films (MS readers interested can see the list of Hits and Misses of Hrithik given under comments section). The series of flops now termed Hrithik as a one film wonder boy. Hrithik was eagerly looking out for a hit to help him stabilize and gain a foothold in the industry. Once again Papa Roshan came out to his rescue and came out with KMG. Papa Roshan also made it sure that tremendous curiosity is generated amongst the public. Result of such a curiosity was that, even before its release KMG became a hot topic and media and public has considered it to be a super hit.

Coming back to the plot of KMG, KMG opens with Mehra (Rakesh Roshan) a Scientist trying to establish contact with living creatures on other planet. Mehra succeeds in establishing contact with the Aliens by sending signal of ''AUM'' through his self-made computer. Though Mehra succeeds in establishing contact with Aliens he fails in convincing other scientists about his achievement, other scientists ridicule him. Mehra gets disgusted and drives back home.

On his way back with his pregnant wife (Rekha) he spots a UFO and trying to follow the UFO his vehicle meets with an accident which results in death of Mehra. The accident also affects the brain of the child in the womb of Mrs. Mehra.

Rohit Mehra (Hrithik Roshan) physically grows to a handsome lad but mentally is still a child who is always in company of little school kids. The group keeps on playing prank. One day they play a prank of Nisha (Preity) who is new to the town. Nisha mistakes Rohit's innocence and gets him beaten. Later on she realises her mistake and befriends Rohit.

Rohit has a desire to learn computer but the computer instructor in his school throws him out of the class. Rohit decides to take Nisha's help in learning computer. Nisha starts teaching computer using his fathers' computer. Result - they once again start sending AUMsignal to outer space and gets immediate response. An UFO arrives in their town. However before take off they leave out one of their specimen a blue creature. Rohit befriends with the alien creature and takes care of it and names him ''Jadoo''. In turn the creature cures Rohit's mental illness and Rohit emerges as a champion in all field like basket ball, fights, dance, etc.

Entire police force, and army is busy to track and capture the alien. Rohit is keen on protecting Jadoo and sending him back to his own place, though Jadoo is not willing to go back as the moment Jadoo leaves Rohit will lose all his intelligence and power. But Rohit is determined to send back Jadoo and he starts transmitting signals to the outerspace and once again the spaceship arrives and Rohit safely sends back Jadoo to the outerspace in the process he loses the intelligence and power given by Jadoo. However Jadoo once again appears on the sky and gives back all the intelligence and power to Rohit. Rohit now marries Nisha and lives happily thereafter.

If compared to the creature of ET, Jadoo looks more like a Cartoon Character instead of outerspace creature. The best part of ET were the eyes of the creature, the eyes of Jadoo though big does not have any sort of expression.

Performance wise Hrithik has done full justice to his role, Preity has nothing much to perform except to appear in skimpy outfit. Mukesh Rishi in the role of Police inspector has done a good job. Jhonny Lever as a constable is too loud. Rekha has nothing much to perform. Premchopra is okay in his small role of town collector.

Nothing much to say about the Music of Rajesh Roshan.

Cinematography by Ravi Chandran and Samir Arya is pretty good.

Direction by Rakesh Roshan is good but has equal flaws too.

Director's Plus Point

Director has taken brilliant Performance out of Hrithik Roshan.

Director's Minus Points

Spaceship and Alien Creature could have been made little more realistic.

Rohit who is shown as mentally affected and who is shown behaving as a child is shown singing romantic songs, its really surprising how come Rohit can understand the words and sing properly when he is unable to speak properly.

In most of the scenes performance of Hrithik reminds the mannerism of Raj Kapoor this could have been avoided.

NOTE:

I never knew it is so easy to establish contact with living creature of outerspace, I shall now keep on trying find the computer used by Mr. Mehra once I come across I shall start sending voice mail to outerspace, maybe one day even I can find a JADOO.

In a nutshell success of KMG is both a boon and bane to Hrithik. KMG 's success can no doubt revive the sulking career of Hrithik, but if the next release of Hrithik (Farhan Akthar's Lakshya)bombs he will be in greater trouble as he will be labelled as ''a star who performs well only in his home production''. Whether KMG's success is a boon or bane for Hrithik can be decided only after release of Lakshya that too depending on his role and performance in Lakshya as it is once again a Multi-starrer with Amitabh in lead role.

GOODLUCK HRITHIK
