In Trivandrum, this is the best. Be there at Emergency entrance and see the Ambulances from many hospitals coming there. For critical care and life saving this is the last destination as of now.
I have been in KIMS for major issues twice and almost been there for total 30 days, so I had experienced the whole system. The use of Best equipment and advanced methods there had saved many lives.
No longer this hospital is a rich man's destination, people from everywhere is there, middle class and poor. I have spend big amounts there but sure have received great care. Best thing about this hospital is that decision of majority prevails. Our doctor was confused many times, but for her aid many other doctors would give their opinions(at times she would aid them back, so no question about her competency) and best treatment as such was guaranteed.
Last time I spend 1.99 Lacs there for a treatment, after discounts, but when I inquired only one hospital could have been lesser, Medical College, Trivandrum. Now I would never put my family in the hands of Med. Coll guys, not that they are incompetent or something, but you would not get attention from nurses or Doctors (they get salary for not working properly too).
KIMS, its different story, Doctors and nurses give good attention, they throw people out of ICU calling security and some are irked by this. Now that is an appreciable thing, but people take this personal.
The crowd has grown like hell at KIMS Hospital and it is overcrowded. Now, there is scope for a new KIMS like healthcare centre in Trivandrum. Unlike many had commented, KIMS is no longer costly, but worthy if you care for your family.
Their money motive has frustrated me at times, but when I come to think of it, every other private hospital would have done the same or worse, so no regrets. I am happy that I reached there twice and at critical times, I got the best care and saved my family.
